HKIX Network Maintenance
A notification from Hong Kong Internet eXchange (HKIX), states that they will perform major OS upgrades for their switches and route servers of HKIX2 network. The upgrade will not affect the network of HKIX1, however the websites and email services connecting with HKIX2 switches would be affected during the upgrade period.
During the upgrade, all HKIX participants' would be affected. Websites and email services users might detect disconnection or link up/down intermittently during this period. All services would retrieve normal after the system is upgraded.

Hong Kong Internet eXchange (HKIX) is a layer-two settlement-free multi-lateral exchange point. It interconnects the Internet Access Providers (IAPs) in Hong Kong so that we can exchange intra-HongKong and Asia traffic locally without routing through US. All of the HKIX participants can be benefited because significant amount of precious International link bandwidth can be saved.
